A Preclinical Porcine Model of Portal Vein Thrombosis in Liver Cirrhosis.

This study aims to present a new method to develop a pig model of portal vein thrombosis (PVT) in cirrhosis with intravenous administration of thrombin and the insertion of a fibered coils. We further investigated changes in biochemical parameters, coagulation, and Simian Clia Kits the expression of proinflammatory cytokines in the group of cirrhosis-PVP.
method
Twelve male pigs were randomized into a control group (n = 3) and cirrhosis group (n = 9). In pigs cirrhosis, three randomly selected to build PVP with ultrasound-guided percutaneous puncture of the main portal vein (MPV) followed by administration of intravenous thrombin and fibered coil insertion. Thrombosis in MPV is detected by enhanced abdominal computed tomography (CT). Changes in liver function, coagulation system, and inflammatory cytokines compared between normal, cirrhosis, and cirrhosis with groups PVT.
As manifested by the presence of MPV filling defects in the portal venous-phase CT angiography, fibrin thrombus forms in the MPV in pigs cirrhosis within a week and last for four weeks. Five weeks after surgery, abnormal liver function occur in connection with the formation of PVP in cirrhosis. Both coagulation and thromboelastography parameters indicate that swine cirrhosis-PVP exhibited procoagulant state through hyperfunction of platelets and clotting factors. Interleukin 6 (IL-6) as a potential marker of inflammation stimulate the activation of the PVP-mediated inflammation in cirrhosis.
conclusion
Our study provides in vivo evidence that intravenous injection of thrombin into a coil and MPV under guided intervention device allows a method in the creation of thrombus. exploration and validation of large sample case more information is needed to characterize the utility of this model.

mechanical changes in the avascular region of the meniscus following partial meniscectomy: An elongated pig cadaver meniscal tear model.

Although partial meniscectomy is a common treatment for tears in the avascular region of the meniscus, the following mechanical changes meniscectomy known to initiate mechanical induced osteoarthritis. We aim to measure contact pressure distribution articular cartilage in the knee surgically repaired and partially resected menisci in avascular region.

A pneumatic loading device developed to implement the 1000 N compressive load on sample pig cadaver knee in flexion angles of 20, 35, 50, and 65 °. We simulated longitudinal meniscal tears in the avascular portion and the third inner well-vascularization 1/3 central part of the meniscus. Articular cartilage contact pressure on the knee with intact, ripped, repaired, https://gentaur.cz/ and resected menisci tears that compared. For well-vascularization in the area, contact pressure is restored meniscal repair articular cartilage in the joints to level intact.

However, partial meniscectomy significantly increases the maximum contact pressure and the contact pressure of the average in the area is very congested. However, partial meniscectomy in avascular region do not change the contact pressure of the articular cartilage maximum and average contact pressure in the area is very congested.

Characterization of Atrial and Ventricular Structural Remodeling in a Porcine Model of Atrial Fibrillation Induced by Atrial Tachypacing.

BACKGROUND: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is characterized by electrical and structural remodeling. Irregular and / or rapid atrio-ventricular (AV) conduction during AF can result in AV dyssynchrony, tachymyopathy, pressure and volume overload with  Rabbit Clia Kits subsequent dilatation, valve regurgitation, ventricular dysfunction and heart failure progresses. Objective : To gain further insight into the pathophysiology of myocardial changes caused by tachypacing right atrium (A-TP) in a large animal model.  Methods: A total of 28 pigs Landrace randomly as 14 to AF-induced group A-TP and 14 pigs for the control group. AF tachypaced pigs for 43 ± 4 days up in sustained AF. functional renovation investigated by echocardiography (after cardioversion to sinus rhythm). structural renovation was quantified by histological preparations with picrosirius red and immunohistochemical staining. Results: A-TP resulted in decreased left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) is accompanied ...

In-situ tool wear monitoring and its effects on the performance of porcine cortical bone drilling: a comparative in-vitro investigation.

Drilling is one of the most widely used in orthopedic surgery and eye surgery the same drill used several times in the hospital. Using the same drill bit a few times  Canine Clia Kits might be the cause of osteosynthesis and osteonecrosis. In this work, the effect of repeated orthopedic little twist on disposable surgical instruments, power, torque, temperature and chip morphology during the drilling of the cortical bone of pigs was studied. The results were compared with the ultrasonic rotary drilling (RUD) on the same bones using hollow drill tools coated with diamond grains.  A sequence of 200 trials (100 by each process, RUD and CD) is performed with a constant process parameters.Wear in the drill area is significantly increased as a drill is used repeatedly in the CD, whereas no wear attritious found in diamond grains coated in results RUD .Comparative shows that the cutting force, torque and temperature increases as a function of the use of instruments on the CD as the ...

Everolimus-Eluting Biodegradable Abluminal Coating Stent versus Durable Conformal Coating Stent: Termination of the Inflammatory Response Associated with Neointimal Healing in a Porcine Coronary Model.

We evaluated the effects of different carrier systems on early vascular response through histological analysis and electron microscopy using pig model.Although Synergy ™ and Promus PREMIER ™ share of identical material and drug elution stents (everolimus), they use a different drug carrier systems: biodegradable abluminal conformal coating durable  Cavia Clia Kits polymer or polymer layers, respectively. However, data regarding the impact of the different coating systems on the healing of the vessel is currently limited. Twelve Synergy ™ and Promus PREMIER ™ implanted in 12 pigs. histopathological analysis of the stented segment held on 2 and 14 days after implantation. morphometric analysis intima inflammation and fibrin content was also conducted. result On day 2, neointimal thickness, neointimal area percentage, and scores of inflammation and intimal fibrin content did not differ significantly between the two groups. On the 14th day, scores of inflammation and intimal fibrin c...
